Keep the Change! This is a pin the tail on the rhetoric(of sorts). As Palin said we "can keep the change". Economically, that means they will have to pay something. Tact is another matter. (It is not we or you or they or us.) In this regard some follow-up is warranted. We can agree that America is an exceptional place, but it is still a concern about what exceptionalism means. In this I mean to point to the French connection between a Slate comment(one Geir Smith) and a historical reference. Further tact(& tack) is required...
[But to be blunt the word is Heritage that explains our nation, and we are free to acknowledge our roots in the words we choose, and it can always be taken wrong by some,] i.e. we say anyone is a "fill in blank"-American but it does not mean anyone has two birth places (requiring hyphe-nation is no better than dropping one in a melting pot.)
